The SIDEWINDER is unique to Adrenaline chess. It appears on the back row of the board one move after a player’s reserve pieces are exhausted. Both players eventually receive one (if they survive long enough). A SIDEWINDER moves over the board like a snake, back and forth diagonally, and can capture pieces of either color.
The SIDEWINDER may stop on an empty octagon, or continue to slither across the board until it captures a piece of either color – but it must always alternate in the same pattern of its first turn.
